Terms and Conditions


The following terms shall apply throughout this document:
"Openfiction" and "The Service" refer to the service provided on the World Wide Web by Atomic Systems IP Ltd known as "Openfiction".

"The Author" refers to the author of a specific work that is maintained on the service.

"The Work" refers to the work that is being maintained on the Openfiction Service by The Author.

"The Reader" refers to a reader of The Work that is maintained on the Openfiction Service by The Author.


The following Terms and Conditions shall apply to users on the Openfiction system
  • Works must not promote any illegal references as defined by the laws of the United Kingdom. Such references include, but are not limited to, Software Piracy, Copyright Infringement and Racial or other Hatred.
  • Works may not contain links to sites that contain illegal activities as defined by the laws of the United Kingdom. Such links could include, but are not limited to, MP3 Sites, Warez (Software Piracy) sites or Adult sites. Works must also not link to banner advertisement systems.
  • Works must not publish details of the individuals that may identify them unless the Work Author has written permission from the individual that could be identified and can prove this to the Openfiction Administration.
  • The storage of Works is entirely at the discretion of the Openfiction administration and works may be removed (though they may not otherwise be modified) at any time and without reason or notice.
  • The content of all Works remains the property of the Work Author at all times and may not be used by anyone without the express written consent of the Work Author. This includes the Openfiction Administration.
  • The Work Author assumes all responsibility for the content of their Works. The Author agrees that the Openfiction owners and System Administration are in no way liable for any content written by The Author and furthermore agrees to indemnify Openfiction against any form of liability. The Work Author assumes total responsibility for their Works.
  • The Author understands and agrees that the Openfiction Administration can not be held responsibile for any loss, howsoever caused, as a result of ability or inability to use the service whether for reading or writing of Works, and furtherore that the Openfiction Administration cannot be held responsible for any direct or indirect loss, whether of direct earnings or intangible loss as a result of other users actions within the system, unless such action has previously been notified to the Administration with 7 days notice in writing.
  • This policy is subject to change at any time. An up to date copy of this policy is always available at http://www.openfiction.com/terms.php. The version available at the aforementioned place is deemed to be the master copy and supersedes all others.

By publishing any material on Openfiction (The Service) you agree to be bound by the 8 rules listed above. Failure to abide by the rules above could result in the irrecoverable removal of any or ALL works from The Service.

The Reader agrees that any comments that are added to any work in The Service are to adhere (where applicable) to the above conditions also.

While Openfiction attempts to provide as much assurance of anti-copyright theft as possible using its Publishing mechanism, by publishing works on Openfiction that Atomic Systems IP Ltd nor Openfiction may be held responsible, or liable in any form, if any such breach occurs.
Please notify us as soon as you are aware of a breach of copyright and your intended/desired actions to be taken. We will help you in any way that we can but such help is offered to the extent that Atomic Systems IP Ltd and Openfiction wish to go to. You will be renotified of this warning whenever you publish a work. Please seek the guidance of legal council if your copyright on a particular work is important.

In the event of a dispute between an Openfiction reader and author, the author agrees that the Openfiction administration have the right to temporarily (or permanently if ordered by a court of law) remove any or all of the offending articles until a legal settlement is made. Should Atomic Systems IP Ltd incur any legal fees as a result of any litigation then we reserve the right to pass those fees on to the author(s) involved.

The Author agrees to indemnify the Openfiction administration against any legal or financial issues that may occur as a result of their works published on the Openfiction system.

The author must provide full, valid and correct name and email address details upon application for service. Atomic Systems IP Ltd have a very strict anti-spam and privacy policy and will not pass on any information without written (including Email) permission from the subject of said information. Atomic Systems IP Ltd and the Openfiction Administration will occasionally use your email address to send The Author updates about The Service, although The Author has the option to opt out of these updates completely.
